Mueller — an intermedia artist — focuses on humans' resistance to change and a struggle for control. How these efforts display themselves is the subject of the works collected in this exhibition, which includes large-scale paintings and video works. Recurrent visual themes include corporate management structures, cult dynamics, and Sisyphean tasks. Although these works share many specific, personal associations and a dry sense of humor, the audience is invited to develop personal narratives and explanations for each piece.

Recent Drawing for Erik
A friend of mine, Erik, sent me some photos to make a piece. I finally made it over spring break (after about a year or so delay...).
I think I'll call it Traveling Dog. Approximately 8"x10" in paint marker, pastel, and charcoal on canvas.

Upcoming Panel Drawings

I've set to work on a new set of panel drawings, and I'm very excited about them. I've been at grad school for a year, and have not done a single drawing since I arrived (aside from some illustrations in my various booklets), so I'm feeling like it's about time!
They look very blank and intimidating right now, but I have some ideas flowing, and I know they are going to relate in some way to the grant subject matter (Fanaticism, Sustainability, & America). The panels are all primed and ready to go, so I just have to get to work developing the compositions to go on them. 8 new works! Woot!
