Mueller — an intermedia artist — focuses on humans' resistance to change and a struggle for control. How these efforts display themselves is the subject of the works collected in this exhibition, which includes large-scale paintings and video works. Recurrent visual themes include corporate management structures, cult dynamics, and Sisyphean tasks. Although these works share many specific, personal associations and a dry sense of humor, the audience is invited to develop personal narratives and explanations for each piece.

This year's festival had a special section on the "Politics of Division," which was exciting because the Manifest Destiny series definitely fits with that area.
