"Navigating a Riot" on Liminalities

"Practical Preparedness: How to Navigate a Riot" is currently featured on Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies, an open-access, peer-reviewed online publication that addresses three needs in performance studies scholarship and practice: 1) expanding opportunities to share peer-reviewed work, 2) creating a space for the publication of multimedia texts and projects that are difficult or impossible to publish in traditional print venues, and 3) international accessibility.

Check it out!

LOL in Sweden

art:screen has been invited to curate a screening program on the theme 'LoL' (Laughing out Loud) for Onskoldsviks Museum & Konsthall 'Black box', Örnsköldsvik, Sweden from September 18 - October 5, 2012.

The program consists of works from art:screen’s archive. My video 'Preparing for Bioterrorism' has been selected and will be shown during the event.

art:screen is a platform that showcases new, compelling, innovative and contemporary video art and moving image from Swedish and international artists. art:screen is, for many artists, the window for showing their work in Sweden and Europe.

art:screen shows single-channel screening programmes which have tempo and flow. To create this, the duration of works are at maximum five minutes long. The programmes explore new ways of seeing reality from a cultural, social and individual perspective and often employ humour to give new insights.

art:screen is an artist-run, non-profit initiative organised by Eva Olsson and Jonas Nilsson who are both practising professional artists with an extensive experience of curating screening programmes.
